Principles of Architecture (#7110)

An overview of the various fields of architecture, interior design, and construction management.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  9th - 12th


Principles of Construction (#7143)

Designed to provide an introduction and lay a solid foundation for those students entering the construction or craft skilled areas.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  9th - 12th

Special Notes: This course is available for Dual Credit. Please see your counselor.  For safety and liability considerations, limiting course enrollment to 15 students is recommended.


Architectural Design I (#7111)

Designed to provide knowledge of the history, techniques and tools related to the production of drawings, renderings and scaled models for architecture.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Recommended:  Geometry, Principles of Architecture, and Principles of Construction

Special Notes:  This course is available for Dual Credit. Please see your counselor.  Student must pass safety test with 100% mastery.


Architectural Design II (#7121)

Designed to include knowledge of techniques, and tools related to the production of drawings, renderings, and scaled models for architectural purposes.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Architectural Design I or Advanced Interior Design, and Geometry.  Recommended:  Principles of Architecture, and Principles of Construction

Special Notes:  This course is available for Dual Credit. Please see your counselor.  Student must pass safety test with 100% mastery.


Advanced Interior Design (#7123)

Designed to explore the principles, processes, technologies, communication, tools, equipment, and materials related to interior design.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites: English II, Geometry, and Interior Design I


Construction Management I (#7125)

Designed to gain knowledge and skills needed to be apprentice carpenters or building maintenance supervisors' assistants.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Recommended: Algebra I, Geometry, and Principles of Construction

Special Notes:  This course is available for Dual Credit. Please see your counselor. 


Construction Management II (#7126)

 

Designed to gain knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as apprentice carpenters or building maintenance supervisors' assistants.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:  Construction Management I

Construction Technology I (#7144)

Designed to gain knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as carpenters or building maintenance supervisors.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Designed to gain advanced knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as carpenters, building maintenance technicians, or supervisors.

Building Maintenance Technology I (#7145)

Designed to acquire skills in plumbing; electrical; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Prerequisites:  Recommended: Principles of Architecture or Principles of Construction


Electrical Technology I (#7136)

Designed to provide knowledge and skills specific to those needed to enter the workforce as an electrician or building maintenance supervisor.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended: Principles of Architecture or Principles of Construction

Electrical Technology II (#7137)

 

Designed to receive advanced skills specific to those needed to enter the workforce as an electrician or building maintenance technician or supervisor.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended: Electrical Technology I and Principles of Architecture or Principles of Construction

HVAC and Refrigeration Technology I DC (#7141)

Designed to gain skills needed to enter the industry as technicians in the HVAC and refrigeration industry or prepare for a degree in construction management.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended:  Principles of Architecture, Principles of Construction or Construction Technology I


HVAC and Refrigeration Technology II DC (#7179)

Designed to acquire knowledge and skills in safety, electrical theory, use of tools, codes, installation of commercial HVAC equipment.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:    HVAC and Refrigeration Technology I.  Recommended:  Principles of Architecture or Principles of Construction


Interior Design I (#7112)

Designed to address psychological, physiological, and sociological needs of individuals by enhancing the environments in which they live and work.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended:  Algebra I and English I, Principles of Architecture and Principles of Construction or Architectural Design I


Interior Design II (#7123)

Designed to be a course that includes the application of principles, processes, technologies, tools, equipment, and materials related to interior design.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  11th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended: English III, Geometry, and Interior Design I


Mill and Cabinetmaking Technology (#7135)

Designed to acquire skills in cabinet design, tool usage, jointing methods, finishes, and industry-level practices.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  2.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended:  Principles of Architecture and Principles of Construction

Plumbing Technology I (#7139)

 

Designed to acquire skills in industry workplace basics and expectations, including how to use a plumbing code book and use power and hand tools.

Term:  Full Year Credit:  1.0 Grades:  10th - 12th

Prerequisites:    Recommended:  Principles of Architecture, Principles of Construction or Construction Technology I

Plumbing Technology II (#7140)

 

Designed to acquire skills in plumbing codes, industry workplace basics, and employer/customer expectations, including tool and jobsite safety.

Practicum in Architectural Design (#7122)

 

Designed to provide instruction in architectural design.

Designed to provide technical instruction in architectural design.

Practicum in Construction Management (#7152)

Designed to challenge students with the application of knowledge and skills gained in previous construction-related coursework.

Term:  Full Year Credit: 3.0 Grades:  12th

Prerequisites:   Practicum in Construction Management.  Recommended:  Construction Management II

Special Notes:  This course may include a work-based learning component.  The course is recommended for students 16 years of age or older.
